Between August 1st and August 10th in Dallas, TX the U.S. Open had two representatives from the Bakersfield Chess Club making up the 377 participants in this National event. IM Enrico Sevillano finished tied for first with GM Shabalov and IM Milovanovic (winning on tiebreaks) while Indra Lahiri tied for 35th in an impressive performance at 6-3 (+4-1=4). Sevillano was the only first place winner to play all of his games and was undefeated at 8-1 (+7-0+2).
